Following the alarming rate of explosions in Gaza, the Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan has accused Israel of seeking to expand the war in Gaza to Lebanon.
He expressed concerns over the escalating conflict, noting that Israel’s actions appear to be increasingly provocative and are pushing the region towards a broader confrontation.
Fidan highlighted the recent wave of explosions in Hezbollah-controlled areas in Lebanon, which have claimed the lives of 32 people, including children, and left thousands wounded.
According to report, the blasts, which targeted Hezbollah operatives’ communication devices in various locations, have raised fears of the conflict spreading further.
“The escalation in the region is alarming. We see Israel mounting its attacks towards Lebanon step by step.”
“We have come to a point where these operations carried out by Israel have become increasingly provocative, and in return, Iran, Hezbollah and elements close to them have no choice but respond,” Fidan said.
However, Israel has not officially commented on the explosions, but Defense Minister Yoav Gallant suggested that the conflict is shifting focus to the northern border, hinting at a possible escalation with Hezbollah.
In the meantime, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan extended his condolences to Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, reaffirming Turkey’s stance against Israel’s military actions in Gaza and Lebanon.
As tensions continue to rise, the risk of a wider regional conflict looms, drawing in more countries into the ongoing hostilities.
