Hi, welcome to Tech This Evening, an After-Work Tech Newsletter from Techparley Africa. Sure, there is a lot to unpack right now. Sit back, while I walk you through.
Top Story: MyQura: How Abiola Ayilara is Using AI to Tackle Africa’s Healthcare Crisis
Abiola Ayilara, a nurse informaticist and healthtech entrepreneur, is spearheading a new era in African healthcare with MyQura, an African AI-enabled ecosystem, using technology to provide access to quality, affordable, and relevant homecare.
Ayilara’s journey into health innovation began with a personal experience. After witnessing a close relative struggle after a critical illness due to the absence of structured homecare support, she recognised a systemic failure within Nigeria’s healthcare landscape.
“We’re not just solving healthcare challenges; we’re redesigning how Africans experience care, affordable, trusted, and culturally aligned,” says Ayilara.
Refusing to accept the status quo, Ayilara launched MyQura in 2021, a platform designed to transform how Africans experience healthcare beyond the hospital.

NaviSmart AI: How Ouma Mac’Ouma is Using AI to Fix Visa Applications and Immigration Challenges
For millions seeking a fresh start abroad, immigration can be a stressful process, as the only way is by hiring consultants, an option that comes with high fees and long waiting times. This is the gap NaviSmart AI, an artificial intelligence startup, is stepping in to fill.
In recent years, online tools have tried to digitise the process, automating form-filling or eligibility checks. Yet, many still fall short. They rarely provide the full, personalised support or legal accuracy that immigration applications demand, leaving users exposed to errors or outdated information.
Founded by Ouma Mac’Ouma, the company is using a hybrid model that merges automation with human oversight to streamline immigration process.
“The AI assistant automates eligibility analysis, personalized form filling, checklist generation, and mock interview coaching, operating 24/7,” Mac’Ouma said.
