Pattern Group Inc., a global ecommerce acceleration company, has launched a new artificial intelligence-powered platform designed to automate critical ecommerce functions and help brands compete more effectively across online marketplaces.

The company unveiled Pattern Intelligence (Pi) during Accelerate, its annual gathering of ecommerce executives and brand leaders, positioning the platform as a next-generation execution engine capable of identifying commercial opportunities and acting on them in real time.

According to Pattern, Pi moves beyond traditional analytics platforms by not only identifying issues and opportunities but also executing actions automatically when appropriate.

“Pi is our central execution engine. It doesn’t just surface insights, it acts on them. Pi is built on over 13 years of data collection, logic execution, and Pattern’s broader technology portfolio, with 41 patents issued or pending, purpose-built to accelerate growth for our brand partners,” said Dave Wright, Co-Founder and CEO, Pattern.

Moving Beyond Insights to Execution

For years, ecommerce platforms have provided brands with large volumes of data and performance metrics. However, many organisations still struggle to convert those insights into timely actions.

Pattern says Pi addresses this challenge by combining artificial intelligence with automated decision-making capabilities.

The platform continuously monitors key ecommerce functions, including featured offers, advertising campaigns, product content, pricing strategies and inventory management. When opportunities or risks are detected, automated workflows initiate corrective actions without requiring manual intervention.

Where human judgement is required, Pi presents recommendations for approval rather than acting independently, giving brand partners oversight and control over strategic decisions.

The company also noted that every action performed by the platform is recorded and timestamped, creating a searchable audit trail of operational activities undertaken on behalf of clients.

AI Built on More Than a Decade of Ecommerce Data

Pattern’s leadership believes the platform’s competitive advantage lies in the scale of proprietary data that powers its decision-making capabilities.

According to the company, Pi has been developed using more than 13 years of operational experience supporting global brands across leading online marketplaces.

The platform draws from over 77 trillion proprietary data points accumulated through years of pricing decisions, advertising adjustments, content updates and featured offer recoveries.

Pattern says its data repository continues to expand by more than 800 billion additional data points each week, creating what it describes as one of the largest ecommerce intelligence datasets in the industry.

Millions of Automated Actions Already Executed

Pattern revealed that Pi has already been deployed across its portfolio of brand partners and has performed millions of automated actions.

These include recovering featured marketplace offers, adjusting pricing strategies and resolving content-related issues that could affect product visibility and conversion rates.

The company said the platform operates continuously, allowing brands to respond to market changes around the clock rather than relying solely on human teams working within traditional business hours.

This capability could prove particularly valuable for multinational brands operating across multiple marketplaces and time zones, where delays in responding to competitive threats can quickly impact revenue performance.

New Tools for Brand Partners

As part of the launch, Pattern outlined a suite of tools currently available through Pi.

Among them is a Daily Brief and Podcast feature that delivers written and audio summaries of a brand’s seven-day ecommerce performance.

The platform also includes Chat-to-Data functionality, allowing users to query business performance and receive immediate answers based on Pattern’s proprietary ecommerce datasets.

Pi Skills introduces workflow automation capabilities tailored to specific ecommerce tasks, while a Knowledge Management System enables brands to upload their own guidelines, preferences and tone-of-voice requirements to ensure AI-generated actions remain aligned with company standards.

Other features include a Chrome extension that provides real-time insights directly on Amazon product pages and AI-powered chat applications that integrate with existing generative AI platforms.

Pattern confirmed that Pi is already available through the ChatGPT application directory, with support for additional AI ecosystems expected in the future.

Growing Demand for AI in Ecommerce

The launch reflects a broader trend across the retail industry as businesses increasingly adopt artificial intelligence to improve efficiency, reduce operational costs and enhance decision-making.

Global ecommerce marketplaces have become more competitive than ever, with brands facing constant pressure to optimise product listings, pricing, advertising performance and inventory management.

As AI technology continues to evolve, industry experts expect automation to play an increasingly important role in helping companies manage these functions at scale.

For Pattern, the introduction of Pi represents a strategic effort to position itself at the centre of this transformation by offering brands not just visibility into their ecommerce operations, but the ability to act on opportunities instantly.

Talking Points

It is significant that Pattern is moving beyond traditional ecommerce analytics into full execution with Pattern Intelligence (Pi), signalling a shift in how global brands may increasingly rely on autonomous systems to manage operations in real time.

The ability of Pi to not only identify opportunities but also act on them instantly positions it as a potentially transformative tool in ecommerce optimisation, particularly in areas such as pricing, advertising, content, and inventory management.

At Techparley, we see this as part of a broader evolution where AI is no longer just an advisory layer but is becoming embedded directly into operational decision-making for global retail systems.

The scale of Pattern’s proprietary dataset, built over 13 years and spanning trillions of data points, gives Pi a significant competitive advantage in predicting market shifts and responding faster than manual teams typically can.

However, the increasing autonomy of such systems raises important questions around control, transparency, and dependency. While human approval loops are still in place for sensitive decisions, the balance between automation and oversight will be critical as adoption deepens.

As more brands adopt AI-driven execution engines like Pi, the ecommerce industry is likely to see a shift towards highly automated commercial ecosystems, where competitive advantage is determined by the speed and intelligence of machine-led decision-making.
