Egyptian startup BrainsMingle, an artificial intelligence-powered, video-first professional networking platform, has secured US$400,000 in strategic seed funding from BasharSoft Group. This marks a significant milestone in its ambition to redefine how professionals connect, share expertise and build meaningful careers worldwide.

The investment, announced by the company, comes as BrainsMingle continues to gain international traction, having already attracted professionals and communities from more than 90 countries.

Founded by Belal Amin and Yousef Gamal, the platform is positioning itself as a next-generation alternative to conventional professional networking platforms by placing authentic human interaction, rather than endless content consumption, at the centre of professional engagement.

The funding also represents BasharSoft Group’s first strategic investment since acquiring iCareer last year, underscoring the company’s confidence in BrainsMingle’s vision of creating a unified platform where professionals can teach, learn, network and monetise their expertise.

“We built BrainsMingle around one belief: the most valuable professional moments happen between people, not between people and content,” co-founder Belal Amin said.

“The world does not need another feed to scroll or another profile to maintain. It needs a home, a single place where an ambitious professional can show up, share what they know, and build a community around it,” he added.

What is BrainsMingle and what does it do?

BrainsMingle is an AI-driven professional networking platform that combines live video engagement, community building and knowledge sharing into a single ecosystem.

Unlike traditional professional networking websites that primarily revolve around user profiles, text posts and static content, BrainsMingle enables experts to host live sessions, build dedicated communities, manage bookings and generate income from their knowledge and experience.

For professionals seeking to grow their careers, the platform offers opportunities to discover industry experts, participate in interactive learning sessions, connect with peers across different countries and gain access to practical knowledge delivered in real time.

By integrating artificial intelligence with video-first interactions, BrainsMingle aims to make professional networking more engaging, collaborative and human-centred.

The pain-point in focus

The founders believe today’s professional networking landscape is fragmented, forcing users to juggle multiple platforms for networking, learning, mentoring, community engagement and booking professional consultations.

According to Amin, BrainsMingle was designed to eliminate that fragmentation by bringing every aspect of professional engagement into one platform.

“We built BrainsMingle around one belief: the most valuable professional moments happen between people, not between people and content,” he said.

He argued that professionals no longer need “another feed to scroll or another profile to maintain,” but rather a single destination where they can exchange ideas, teach others, build communities and establish meaningful professional relationships.

The company’s broader vision extends beyond regional boundaries.

“BrainsMingle was never built for one country or one region. It was built for every professional on the planet who has real expertise to share and no single place worthy of it,” Amin said.

What is BasharSoft?

BasharSoft Group is widely recognised as Egypt’s leading human capital technology company, operating several of the country’s largest employment and career-development platforms.

Its portfolio includes WUZZUF, Forasna, iCareer and Recruitera, collectively serving more than nine million users.

The investment in BrainsMingle represents the company’s first strategic funding initiative since its acquisition of iCareer, reflecting a broader strategy to expand beyond recruitment into technology-driven professional development and knowledge-sharing.

According to BasharSoft Executive Chairman Ameer Sherif, the company sees BrainsMingle as a natural extension of its long-standing mission to connect talent with opportunities.

“For 15 years, we have been connecting talent to opportunity,” Sherif said.

“We identified a significant gap in how knowledge and experience are shared online. BrainsMingle has built the technology necessary to fill this gap, replacing multiple global tools with a single, sophisticated network that resonates with our mission to empower 50 million people in their careers by 2030.”

How BrainsMingle plans to use the funding

Although the company did not provide a detailed spending breakdown, the strategic investment is expected to accelerate BrainsMingle’s growth as it expands its global footprint.

The funding is likely to support continued product development, strengthen its AI capabilities, improve user experience, attract additional experts and professional communities, and scale its operations to serve a growing international audience.

With users already spanning more than 90 countries, the investment also provides BrainsMingle with additional resources to strengthen its position as a global platform for professional engagement.

For the founders, the investment is more than financial backing; it is an endorsement of the company’s long-term vision.

“BasharSoft’s investment is a powerful validation of that vision and a commitment to building it the right way,” Amin said.

Why this matters

BrainsMingle’s latest funding reflects a broader shift in the future of professional networking, where meaningful interaction, knowledge monetisation and community building are becoming just as important as job searching.

As artificial intelligence continues reshaping workplaces and career development, professionals are increasingly looking for platforms that allow them not only to showcase their credentials but also to demonstrate expertise through live engagement, mentorship and collaborative learning.

By integrating networking, live learning, community management and monetisation into a single AI-powered platform, BrainsMingle is seeking to simplify the professional journey while creating new opportunities for experts to build sustainable personal brands and earn from their knowledge.

The backing from BasharSoft further strengthens confidence in this model, signalling that the next generation of career technology may extend beyond recruitment to focus on continuous learning, authentic relationships and lifelong professional growth on a global scale.
