Dr. Bosun Tijani, a Nigerian technologist and entrepreneur, is the newly elected Vice Chair of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Council for 2025.
He is Nigeria’s current Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, and will bring a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role at United Nations’ ITU.
Background and Career: Dr. Tijani’s journey to the top of Nigeria’s digital economy landscape began with his co-founding of Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB), a leading pan-African technology and innovation center with presence in Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, and Namibia.
Under his leadership, CcHUB became a vital catalyst for Africa’s tech ecosystem, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and groundbreaking solutions.
Appointment to ITU Roles

Techparley gathered that earlier in October, 2024, he was appointed Co-Chair of the ITU’s International Advisory Body for Submarine Cable Resilience, where he is working alongside Prof. Sandra Maximiano to promote dialogue and collaboration on improving submarine cable resilience.
