Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman has been crowned the 2024 CAF African Player of the Year.
Lookman, who plays for Italian club Atalanta, was announced as the winner at a prestigious ceremony in Marrakech, Morocco.
The 26-year-old had a remarkable year, impressing fans with his exceptional skill, pace, and finishing. He played a crucial role in Atalanta’s success in Serie A and Nigeria’s qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
Lookman edged out stiff competition from Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi, Ivory Coast’s Simon Adingra, and Guinea’s Serhou Guirassy, among others, to claim the coveted award.
In his acceptance speech, Lookman dedicated the award to his teammates, family, and fans who have supported him throughout his career.
