A fast-growing African technology startup, Bubble AI, is positioning itself as a one-stop platform for career development, education support, and job placement, as it seeks to transform how millions of young Africans navigate education, skills acquisition, and employment opportunities.
Founded in 2024, the AI-powered platform has already attracted more than 13,000 users within its first seven months of operation and is now raising US$1 million to expand its technology infrastructure, grow its workforce, improve accessibility, and accelerate its expansion across key African markets.
By combining career diagnosis, personalised learning pathways, examination preparation, interview coaching, job discovery, and application automation within a single ecosystem, Bubble AI says it aims to help users move from uncertainty about their future to employment readiness.
“In practical terms, Bubble AI helps users identify stronger-fit career opportunities, understand their skill gaps, prepare through personalised learning and assessments, automate parts of the job application process, and improve their readiness for employment,” said Aloaye Collins Otsu, Head of Marketing and Growth Strategy at Bubble AI.
He added that the company’s broader ambition is “to become the default operating system for careers in emerging markets.”
Building a Career Ecosystem Beyond Traditional Job Platforms
Unlike conventional job boards that primarily focus on connecting employers with candidates, Bubble AI is attempting to create an integrated ecosystem that supports users throughout their career journey.
The platform leverages artificial intelligence to assess an individual’s strengths, identify suitable career paths, pinpoint skill deficiencies, and recommend personalised learning plans designed to bridge those gaps.
The company believes that many young Africans struggle not only with finding jobs but also with understanding which career paths align with their abilities and interests.
By combining career guidance with learning resources and job application tools, Bubble AI seeks to address multiple challenges within the employment pipeline rather than focusing on a single stage.
According to Otsu, the platform is designed to provide end-to-end support for users, helping them make informed decisions about their futures while equipping them with the skills and preparation needed to compete in increasingly demanding labour markets.
The startup’s vision reflects a growing trend in the global technology sector, where AI-powered platforms are being deployed to personalise education and career development experiences at scale.
From School Classrooms to the Workplace
At the heart of Bubble AI’s strategy is a two-layer operating model that seeks to support users from their school years through to professional employment.
The first layer is the company’s schools Computer-Based Testing (CBT) engine, which is already being used by educational institutions for examinations, assessments, automated grading, reporting, and management functions.
Beyond simplifying academic administration, the platform is designed to generate longitudinal data that can help identify students’ strengths and guide future career recommendations.
“It catches users from an early stage in school and through longitudinal data, can guide them over time on the best career path for them,” Otsu explained.
The second layer focuses on graduates, job seekers, and professionals seeking career transitions. This segment of the platform provides career diagnostics, personalised roadmaps, interview preparation tools, profile optimisation services, and automated job application capabilities.
“The second is a job application automation layer that automates job application, career diagnostics, develops a career roadmap for late entrants or career transitioning professionals, interview prep and profile optimisation,” said Otsu.
Together, these two layers are intended to create a continuous support system that follows users throughout their educational and professional journeys.
Early Growth Signals Strong Demand for Career Technology
Although Bubble AI remains in its early build-and-scale phase, the startup has reported encouraging traction since launch.
According to the company, it has grown to 13,310 users within seven months, while surpassing 1,000 transactions just five months after introducing monetisation. The platform currently generates approximately US$1,000 in monthly recurring revenue (MRR), with a reported 57 per cent 30-day retention rate.
“Uptake has been encouraging for an early-stage platform. We have reached 13,310 users in the first seven months, crossed 1,000 transactions within five months of monetisation, and are currently at US$1,000 MRR with 57 per cent 30-day retention,” Otsu said.
The startup also disclosed that partnerships with schools and educational technology providers have helped support user acquisition and market penetration, providing an important distribution channel as it seeks to scale.
While the reported figures remain modest compared to more mature technology companies, they suggest growing interest in digital career guidance solutions across Africa, particularly among young people navigating increasingly competitive labour markets.
Seeking US$1M to Scale Across Africa
To accelerate growth, Bubble AI is currently raising US$1 million in funding. The capital will be used to strengthen the company’s AI capabilities, expand product development efforts, hire additional talent, improve distribution channels, and enhance offline accessibility for underserved communities where internet connectivity remains a challenge.
“Beyond capital, we are also looking for strategic distribution and hiring support,” Otsu said.
The company’s immediate focus is on English-speaking African markets, particularly Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa. According to Bubble AI, these countries collectively represent a reachable market of approximately 50 million users under its current business model.
Looking further ahead, the startup is pursuing an ambitious vision of becoming a continent-wide career infrastructure platform capable of connecting education, workforce development, and employment services under one digital framework.
“Our expansion strategy is partnership-led, with institutional entry points through schools, NYSC onboarding, learning platforms, and workforce development programs making us a B2B2C rather than just a B2B,” Otsu explained.
If successful, Bubble AI could emerge as one of a new generation of African startups seeking to use artificial intelligence not merely as a productivity tool, but as a foundational technology for addressing some of the continent’s most persistent challenges in education, employability, and workforce development.
