Coscharis Technologies Limited, the ICT arm of Nigeria’s Coscharis conglomerate, has partnered with global networking leader Tenda to launch a new line of networking products in Lagos.
The unveiling, held during a strategic partner meeting themed “Connected to Win – For a Better Networking”, signifies more than just product distribution—it’s a statement of long-term commitment to Nigeria’s digital transformation.
Tenda’s Nigerian Sales Manager, Joseph Agema, described the initiative as a “significant leap” in the four-year partnership. With Nigeria now the brand’s largest market in West Africa—and third across Africa—Tenda is investing an initial $1 million, targeting 50% annual growth.
The suite of new Tenda products includes access points, routers, switches, base stations, antennas, and CPE radios—designed for Internet Service Providers (ISPs), enterprise users, and IT professionals across Nigeria.
To ensure quality and combat grey market risks, Agema emphasized that the distribution will be handled exclusively through verified partners like Coscharis. This move, he noted, guarantees better support and warranty coverage in major cities like Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Kano.
Agema also called for improved regulatory support to attract more tech investment into the country, pointing out that forex fluctuations and counterfeiting remain significant challenges.
From Reseller to Ecosystem Builder
Speaking at the event, Coscharis Technologies’ CEO, Mr. Sunday Mukoro, reiterated the company’s commitment to transparency, strategic collaboration, and long-term growth. “We don’t compete with our partners; we support them to win,” he said, highlighting Coscharis’ ethos of trust and partnership.
Mr. Austin Ezirim, Business Manager for Tenda at Coscharis, revealed that customer perception has shifted significantly. “Where we once struggled for market acceptance, customers now attest to Tenda’s reliability. Our next goal is widespread adoption and technical capacity building.”
Both companies are investing heavily in partner training and customer service, with Tenda offering 30-minute average response times and monthly technical workshops—aimed at boosting Nigeria’s networking infrastructure from the ground up.
Why It Matters for Nigeria’s Digital Economy
With the federal government pushing toward a digitally inclusive economy, accessible and reliable network hardware is critical. Coscharis and Tenda’s investment helps bridge this infrastructure gap. More importantly, it empowers ISPs, startups, and SMEs to scale with confidence.
Coscharis’ upcoming “Marketplace for Africa to Trade” platform is another key development, intended to strengthen intra-African trade and create a connected ecosystem for digital entrepreneurs.
Talking Points
Coscharis Technologies’ pivot from vendor to ecosystem enabler is a powerful shift. In an environment where most companies still play the short game —flip products, take profits— Coscharis is pushing for something bigger: trust, training, and long-term stakes. That mindset needs to scale across Nigeria’s ICT landscape.
Let we have often expressed, Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harcourt get the headlines and hardware. Again, what happens to SMEs in Jalingo, Osogbo, or Abakaliki?
Unless companies like the Coscharis extends this model into underrepresented regions—with pricing, logistics, and support tailored accordingly—Nigeria will continue to digitize its cities and leave the rest behind.
As analysts, it’s also time to stop romanticizing foreign partnerships. A foreign partner is a business venture, and has an interest to protect. And, while it’s good to see them invest in Nigeria, we should ask tougher questions: What’s their data policy? Where are the warranties managed? Are local engineers involved in design feedback?
At Techparley, we believe that a real partnership is built on equity —not just access.
