Egyptian education technology company, eYouth, has entered into a strategic partnership with Syrian startup Doroob to expand access to market-driven training programmes across Syria.
The collaboration combines eYouth’s extensive regional digital learning ecosystem with Doroob’s growing network of local training hubs, creating a hybrid learning model designed to equip Syrian youth with the practical skills needed to thrive in an increasingly competitive labour market.
By integrating world-class digital content with hands-on training opportunities, the partnership seeks to bridge the gap between education and employment while empowering a new generation of young Syrians with pathways to economic participation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable careers.
The alliance marks another significant milestone in eYouth’s continued regional expansion strategy, following its recent entry into Iraq and its growing presence across the Middle East.
With more than four million learners reached across 21 countries and a track record of helping hundreds of thousands of graduates secure employment, eYouth is leveraging its expertise to address one of Syria’s most pressing challenges, that’s, preparing young people for the future of work.
Through Doroob’s established local presence and understanding of the Syrian education and employment landscape, both companies hope to create a scalable model capable of reaching learners in every province of the country.
Who Are eYouth and Doroob?
Founded in 2016 and transitioning fully online in 2018, eYouth has emerged as one of the Middle East and North Africa region’s leading ed-tech companies. The startup develops and delivers its own online training programmes focused on helping young people build careers and acquire the skills demanded by modern employers.
Over the years, the company has expanded beyond Egypt into major regional markets including Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), becoming a prominent player in digital education.
Today, eYouth serves millions of learners and has built a reputation for providing accessible, high-quality, and customised learning experiences. According to the company, its extensive digital learning library has already helped more than 700,000 graduates secure employment opportunities across 21 countries.
Its new partner, Doroob, is a Syrian startup specialising in education-for-employment initiatives.
Unlike purely online learning providers, Doroob operates a hybrid model that combines digital learning with physical training centres, allowing learners to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
The company has developed a strong local network across Syria and focuses on preparing young people for real-world employment opportunities through flexible and accessible training programmes.
Together, the two organisations bring complementary strengths to the partnership, eYouth contributes a proven digital learning platform and regional expertise, while Doroob provides local infrastructure, market knowledge, and direct engagement with Syrian learners.
How Will the Partnership Work?
Under the agreement, eYouth’s digital learning content will be integrated into Doroob’s network of training centres and educational platforms throughout Syria. This means learners will gain access to internationally developed courses while continuing to benefit from local support and hands-on instruction.
The partnership will focus on delivering training programmes in key growth areas such as technology, freelancing, entrepreneurship, and other high-demand skills increasingly sought by employers across the region and globally.
By combining digital and physical learning environments, students will not only study online but will also have opportunities to practice and refine their skills through in-person training sessions. This blended approach is expected to improve learning outcomes and ensure participants are better prepared for workplace demands.
Speaking on the collaboration, eYouth Chief Executive Officer Mostafa Abdellatif highlighted the importance of aligning training programmes with labour market realities.
“Syrian youth possess immense potential and deserve training that leads them directly to real employment opportunities,” Abdellatif said.
“By linking our regional platform with Doroob’s local training centres and deep understanding of the Syrian market, we will deliver programs that actively help young people build the exact skills that companies are demanding today,” he added.
How Will This Benefit Students?
For students, the partnership promises far more than access to educational content. It is designed to create a direct pathway from learning to employment by equipping participants with practical and marketable skills that can improve their job prospects.
Learners will gain access to a broad range of digital courses developed by eYouth, while also benefiting from Doroob’s physical training centres where they can receive guidance, mentorship, and hands-on experience.
This dual approach addresses a common challenge in online education, the lack of practical application and personal support. Students interested in freelancing and entrepreneurship are also expected to benefit significantly.
As remote work and digital entrepreneurship continue to expand globally, access to specialised training in these areas could open new income-generating opportunities for young Syrians regardless of their geographic location.
Furthermore, the collaboration aims to make quality education more accessible across the country, ensuring that learners in different provinces can participate in programmes tailored to evolving labour market demands.
Why is This Important?
The significance of the partnership extends beyond education. Syria’s youth population faces substantial economic challenges, including limited employment opportunities and the need for skills that align with modern industries and emerging technologies.
By focusing on education-for-employment, the initiative seeks to address both workforce development and economic participation. Industry experts have long argued that one of the most effective ways to combat youth unemployment is through targeted skills development programmes that respond directly to employer needs.
The eYouth-Doroob partnership is built around this principle, aiming to ensure that training translates into tangible employment outcomes rather than certificates alone.
Doroob co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Sami Al-Ahmad underscored this objective, stating that the organisation’s central mission is to create a stronger connection between education and jobs.
“Our primary goal is to transform education into employment,” Al-Ahmad said. “As a startup with a strong local network, this partnership will allow us to scale rapidly.
“By delivering eYouth’s digital content within our hubs and collaborating with Syrian ministries, we are building a fast, flexible, and effective pathway to prepare youth for the labor market in every single Syrian province,” he added.
