Egyptian ed-tech startup, 3C Coding School has raised US$3 million in seed funding as it prepares to expand into Saudi Arabia and accelerate development of an artificial intelligence-powered learning platform.

The investment marks a growth milestone for the company, which has built a technology education ecosystem for children.

Founded in 2015, 3C now serves more than 120,000 students through programmes covering coding, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, game development, and web and mobile applications.

Its founders say the platform is designed to develop thinking skills rather than simply teach programming syntax.

“Coding isn’t just for future software engineers,” co-founder Hossam Hosny said, calling it “a fundamental medium for teaching kids how to think, innovate, and solve complex problems.”

What is 3C Coding School?

Founded in Egypt in 2015 by engineers Hossam Hosny and Ahmed Khallaf, 3C Coding School was created to change how computer science is taught to young learners.

Not only concentrating narrowly on programming languages and code syntax, the company also aims to use education to develop logical reasoning, creative problem-solving, and critical thinking.

It offers tracks covering web and mobile application development, data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, game development, and cybersecurity. The company has more than 120,000 students, providing a foundation for expansion.

Hosny said the company was driven by the belief that technology would become “an indispensable part of every child’s future,” regardless of whether they ultimately pursue software engineering or another career. This approach positions coding as a tool for future learning for learners.

$3m Seed Funding to Drive Growth

The US$3 million investment came through a seed funding round led by MRG Economic Group, with prominent investor Amr Saad and a group of strategic angel investors also participating.

The funding gives 3C fresh capital to invest in expansion, product development, technology, and growth. The decision reflects confidence that the company can turn its existing student base and educational model into a larger regional technology platform.

The amount raised is significant because seed funding is often used by growing startups to strengthen their operations and establish a path toward expansion.

3C described the round as a strategic turning point, with Hosny highlighting not only the financial backing but also the “deep confidence” investors have placed in its vision.

The capital gives 3C room to strengthen operations, improve technology, support expansion, and build the platform for future growth. It also gives investors a stake in the company’s potential.

3C Targets Saudi Arabia Expansion

A central priority after the funding is expansion into Saudi Arabia, giving the Egyptian startup an opportunity to reach a new market of children and young people.

The move also places the company within a region where digital transformation, technology skills, and artificial intelligence are receiving increasing attention.

For 3C, entering Saudi Arabia could broaden its customer base while testing whether its educational model can be adapted successfully beyond its home market.

The company has not disclosed specific details about the timing, locations, or commercial structure of the Saudi expansion, but it has identified the country as one of the two core strategic priorities for the newly raised capital. The ambition is to establish 3C as a regional ed-tech platform. significantly.

This expansion could also help the company build partnerships, attract new learners, and strengthen its position within the region’s growing digital education market.

AI-Powered Platform at the Centre of Next Phase

The second major priority is the development of an AI-powered learning platform, which could change how students interact with 3C’s educational content.

Instead of relying solely on fixed lessons, an AI-enabled system could help tailor explanations, exercises, and learning support to individual students’ needs and progress.

The company’s investment in artificial intelligence also reflects its broader philosophy that technology education should prepare young people for a changing digital economy.

Hosny said the company’s journey had involved “constant learning and development” and that its ecosystem represents more than market traction. In his view, its 120,000-plus students represent “over 120,000 lives impacted and empowered to navigate the future.”

The new platform is intended to strengthen both 3C’s technology and its educational reach, potentially allowing the company to deliver more personalised learning experiences at scale across different markets and student groups.
