The Ogun Digital Summit (ODS) is set to return on 20 November 2025 at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, reaffirming its role as one of South-West Nigeria’s most significant technology gatherings.
According to the organisers, this year’s edition is expected to expand on the summit’s mission of empowering young innovators, bridging digital divides, and showcasing the state’s growing influence in Nigeria’s tech landscape.
When the first Ogun Digital Summit took place in 2020, it was conceived as a modest platform for students, developers, and digital entrepreneurs to connect and learn from one another. Now, the event has evolved into an ecosystem-building platform linking the private sector, academia, and government.
“Together, we will continue to push the boundaries of what is possible, shaping a future where technology is a force for good in every corner of Ogun State and beyond,” according to Victor Adeleye, Convener of the Ogun Digital Summit.
The Origin Story
When the Ogun Digital Summit (ODS) launched in 2020, few could have predicted how quickly it would evolve from a local experiment into a defining event for Nigeria’s digital ecosystem outside Lagos.
According to the organisers, ODS was conceived to unite a community of tech talents, creatives, entrepreneurs, and investors within Ogun State. Its goal was to bridge the gap between emerging innovators and the institutions shaping Nigeria’s tech future.
“Since 2020, we have been on a journey to inspire, educate, and connect individuals with the resources they need to make meaningful contributions to our digital economy,” Adeleye said.
Over five editions, the Ogun Digital Summit has reached more than 7,500 participants, inspiring a generation of young professionals to pursue careers in technology and innovation.
“This year will be different. As part of the icing on the cake, we are partnering with top media organisations to do the storytelling for us in a professional way. We recognise the significant role of the media in reaching a global audience. Ogun State deserves all the attention for further growth and development,” Victor, in an interview on Friday, told Techparley Africa.
What We Know About the 2025 Edition
For the 2025 edition, organisers are expanding the summit’s format into a two-day experience. The main conference will be held on Thursday, 20 November 2025, at the June 12 Cultural Centre.
Day Two, Friday, 21 November, introduces “The Builders’ Hangout & Banquet”, a new addition that begins with a cultural tour of Olumo Rock. The day culminates in The Builders’ Banquet, an evening event designed to celebrate and honour Ogun’s tech and entrepreneurial growth.
Ticket information released via the summit’s channels shows three tiers:
- Regular Pass (Free)
- Silver Pass (₦10,000)
- Prime Pass (₦55,000)
While the organisers are yet to publish a list of speakers, the event’s website teases, “Coming soon… Stay tuned as we unveil the incredible speakers for the Ogun Digital Summit 2025.”
What to Expect This Year
Although details of the 2025 programme are still under wraps, sources close to the organising team suggest that this year’s event will spotlight artificial intelligence, fintech innovation, and digital policy reforms, three areas shaping Nigeria’s technology future.
Given the growing participation from corporate sponsors and academic institutions, industry watchers expect an even larger turnout than the 2024 edition, which drew thousands of attendees.
The 2025 summit is also expected to introduce new interactive sessions, including live demonstrations, investor–startup matchmaking, and ecosystem showcases for emerging tech communities across Ogun’s tertiary institutions.
The Summit’s Growing Influence
According to tech experts, Ogun Digital Summit has become more than a yearly event; it now represents a movement for inclusive digital transformation across Ogun State and its neighbours.
Through its workshops, startup pitch sessions, and skill-building tracks, the summit has given hundreds of participants practical exposure to tech tools and innovation opportunities.
The event also aligns with Ogun State’s broader agenda to position itself as a regional tech hub, complementing national policies aimed at expanding Nigeria’s digital economy.
Dignitaries and Influential Voices
Over the years, the Ogun Digital Summit has hosted and featured some of the most influential figures in Nigeria’s innovation, technology, and governance circles, including ecosystem builders, investors, digital policy officials, and founders of early-stage startups.
Notable attendees include:
- Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Deputy Governor, Ogun State
- Kashifu I. Abdullahi, Director General, NITDA
- Dayo Abiodun, Special Adviser on ICT, Ogun State Government
- Kiki Osinbajo, Founder & CEO, Ciar
- Joshua Chibueze, Co-founder, PiggyVest
- Joel Ogunsola, Founder, Tech4Dev
Their participation has not only elevated the summit’s credibility but also strengthened Ogun’s case as a strategic player in Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.
Why Ogun Digital Summit Matters
At a time when Nigeria’s technology scene is diversifying beyond Lagos and Abuja, industry leaders say the Ogun Digital Summit represents a vital decentralisation of opportunity.
By connecting students, creators, policymakers, and investors in a single forum, it helps shape the next generation of digital innovators who will power the state’s and nation’s economic future.
As anticipation builds for the November event, observers see the Ogun Digital Summit 2025 is more than just another conference; it’s a statement about the power of local innovation to shape national progress.
With its blend of policy engagement, grassroots participation, and global outlook, tech analysts say the summit has become proof that innovation can flourish outside Lagos and that Ogun State is fast emerging as one of the country’s next great technology frontiers.
Talking Points
It is remarkable how the Ogun Digital Summit has evolved from a small, state-level gathering into a credible platform that now attracts policymakers, investors, and founders from across Nigeria’s digital landscape.
In a country where most innovation activity is concentrated in Lagos, the summit represents a quiet but powerful decentralisation of opportunity.
At Techparley, we see the summit as a crucial bridge between emerging talent and institutional support. The inclusion of a two-day structure for the 2025 edition, combining high-level discussions with a cultural immersion and banquet signals a maturing event that understands the balance between policy, networking, and cultural identity.
Still, there’s space to go further. With the right growth plan, the Ogun Digital Summit may cement its role as the template for subnational tech ecosystem building, showing how innovation can thrive wherever vision and structure align.
