A young woman who began writing about technology in Nigeria and is now developing AI solutions with impact across Africa and the United Kingdom has been named Techparley’s Top Columnist for 2025.

Kabirat Olajire, a UK-based AI and Data Science leader, was notified of the award in a letter signed by Techparley’s Editor-in-Chief, Olayiwola Adelaja, and received on Tuesday, November 18, 2025.

The award

The award recognises the contributor whose work achieves “the highest levels of readership, impact, and editorial excellence over the year.” According to the letter, the Editorial Jury in October singled out Olajire’s “AI FOR ALL” column on Techparley Africa as the platform’s top-performing series.

Her articles first rose to the top of Techparley’s most-read list in June and stayed there through October. The jury praised the column for its “clarity, consistency, and ability to make artificial intelligence practical, accessible, and commercially relevant to individuals, businesses, and governments.”

With the award, Olajire was also been honoured with the sobriquet “Techparley Tech Queen” for the 2025 award year.

For Olajire, the recognition marks a journey that began with explaining technology to audiences in Nigeria and has grown into shaping how organisations in the UK and beyond think about AI delivery.

Her writing focuses on a simple premise: that AI must work in real contexts. Through “AI FOR ALL,” she offers guidance to individuals, businesses and governments on adopting the technology “thoughtfully, responsibly, and in alignment with local context.”

Much of her work also examines Africa’s place in the global AI economy, at the intersection of data, public institutions and society.

“I see this award as confirmation that people want more than hype,” Olajire said. “They want to know how to move from experimenting with AI to actually delivering with it. That is the gap I try to close in every article, workshop, and training session.”

Who is Kabirat Olajire

Beyond the column, she trains emerging AI leaders, facilitates data science webinars and speaks at workshops. She has delivered machine learning, data analytics and AI engineering projects across Nigeria and the United Kingdom.

Techparley said it would share further details on the award citation and recognitions in the coming weeks. Olajire can be reached via olajirekabiratodunayo@gmail.com.
