Network International, a fintech company in the Middle East and Africa, has signed a strategic processing agreement with Saudi Sudanese Bank, one of Sudan’s prominent financial institutions.

The partnership, formalised at Cairo ICT 2025, represents a major step in Network International’s expansion within Sudan, reinforcing its commitment to secure, modern, and inclusive payment infrastructure across the region.

Under the agreement, Network International will provide Saudi Sudanese Bank with a full suite of end-to-end digital payment processing services, including Mastercard sponsorship, prepaid card issuing, and a range of value-added solutions designed to support the bank’s digital ambitions and growth strategy.

“Our partnership with Saudi Sudanese Bank represents an important step in advancing Sudan’s digital payments infrastructure. As the trusted partner to leading financial institutions across the region, we’re committed to delivering world-class processing capabilities that help banks accelerate transformation and unlock sustainable growth,” Dr. Reda Helal, Group Managing Director, Processing, Africa at Network International, said.

Strengthening Sudan’s Financial Ecosystem

Saudi Sudanese Bank has established a solid foundation for cross-border economic activity. The partnership with Network International is expected to introduce advanced fintech solutions that modernise the local financial ecosystem, improve trade settlement efficiency, and create new investment channels between Sudan and regional markets.

The collaboration also aligns with the bank’s goal of transforming its digital capabilities, enhancing customer experience, and contributing to the ongoing development of Sudan’s financial services sector.

By partnering with Network International, Saudi Sudanese Bank leverages the company’s scale, reputation, and proven track record in delivering reliable, future-ready payment solutions across Africa and the Middle East.

What This Means

The partnership between Network International and Saudi Sudanese Bank signals a significant step forward for Sudan’s financial sector, which has historically faced challenges in modernising its payment infrastructure.

By introducing advanced digital payment solutions, the collaboration sets the stage for faster, safer, and more efficient transactions, benefiting both retail customers and businesses operating in the country.

“Partnering with Network International, an industry leader with a proven track record across Africa and beyond, is a major step in our journey to modernise Sudan’s banking landscape. Network’s expertise and comprehensive digital payments platform will allow us to introduce faster, safer, and more accessible financial products to our customers,” Osama Ali Ibrahim, CEO of Saudi Sudanese Bank, added.

For Sudanese consumers, this means greater accessibility to modern banking services, including prepaid solutions, enhanced card services, and real-time digital transactions. The integration of value-added tools also allows the bank to personalise offerings, improving the customer experience and encouraging wider adoption of digital financial services.

Expanding Regional Presence

The partnership forms part of Network International’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in Sudan and expand its support to financial institutions seeking scalable, reliable digital payment solutions.

It further cements the company’s reputation as the partner of choice for banks pursuing innovation, operational efficiency, and enhanced customer experience across the region.

From an institutional perspective, experts say the partnership demonstrates how strategic fintech collaborations can accelerate digital transformation. Banks like Saudi Sudanese Bank gain access to proven technology, regulatory expertise, and operational support, enabling them to optimise internal processes, reduce operational costs, and streamline trade settlements.

Finally, at a regional level, the deal reflects a growing trend of fintech-enabled economic development in emerging markets. By modernising Sudan’s payment infrastructure, this collaboration has the potential to attract investment, support cross-border trade, and foster a more inclusive financial ecosystem.
