NVIDIA is deepening its engagement with Egypt’s artificial intelligence ecosystem through an expanding collaboration with entrepreneurship platform RiseUp.

The partnership aims at bringing together startup founders, developers, investors, academics and technology executives to explore new opportunities for AI development in the country.

The latest step came through an AI Ecosystem Reception in Cairo attended by senior NVIDIA executives, including Paolo Guglielmini, Vice President for Europe, Middle East and Africa, and Marc Domenech, Regional Vice President for the Middle East, Turkey, Africa and Southern Europe.

The gathering builds on the first NVIDIA SIGNALS session held in Egypt in July 2026, which connected more than 120 founders, investors and ecosystem leaders.

According to RiseUp founder and CEO Abdelhameed Sharara, “Our work with NVIDIA didn’t end with SIGNALS; it was the start of an ongoing collaboration.”

RiseUp, NVIDIA expand collaboration around Egypt’s AI ecosystem

The Cairo reception represents another phase in what RiseUp describes as a growing, long-term relationship with NVIDIA aimed at strengthening Egypt’s position within the regional artificial intelligence ecosystem.

Instead of being presented as a one-off technology event, the gathering brought together different groups that are important to the development of AI, including entrepreneurs building startups, software developers, industry executives and academics.

The meeting provided an opportunity for participants to exchange ideas about the opportunities emerging around AI and how Egypt’s technology community could engage more closely with global technology players.

For RiseUp, the collaboration is also about creating stronger connections between local innovators and international technology networks.

The organisation said further joint initiatives are already being planned for the regional AI ecosystem in the coming months, suggesting that the Cairo reception forms part of a broader programme of engagement.

NVIDIA executives join Egyptian technology leaders

The latest reception featured senior NVIDIA leadership, giving participants an opportunity to interact directly with executives responsible for the company’s activities across several international markets.

Among those present were Paolo Guglielmini, NVIDIA’s Vice President for EMEA, and Marc Domenech, the company’s Regional Vice President for the Middle East, Turkey, Africa and Southern Europe.

Their participation reflects the international dimension of the collaboration, as Egypt’s local startup and technology ecosystem becomes increasingly connected with a global company whose technologies are widely used in artificial intelligence development.

The meeting brought together representatives from the startup and developer communities, industry, academia and the broader technology ecosystem.

Discussions were centred on the opportunities ahead for AI in Egypt and the wider region, rather than on a specific funding announcement. The gathering therefore served primarily as a platform for dialogue, connections and potential collaboration.

July’s NVIDIA SIGNALS event laid the foundation

The Cairo reception follows the first NVIDIA SIGNALS session held in Egypt in July 2026 at the Grand Egyptian Museum.

Organised by RiseUp alongside A15 and BitRoot, the event brought together more than 120 founders, investors and ecosystem leaders and provided a platform for Egyptian startups to engage with NVIDIA’s wider startup ecosystem.

One of the key connections made during the session involved Egyptian AI founders and Basil Fateen, Head of Startups and Venture Capital at NVIDIA Inception.

The July gathering was also presented as the beginning of a recurring local chapter, establishing a foundation for continued engagement between NVIDIA and Egypt’s technology community.

The latest reception therefore builds directly on that earlier gathering, transforming what began as a single ecosystem event into a continuing relationship.

RiseUp says the two organisations have now worked together through two distinct formats within the same year.

NVIDIA Inception offers a global connection for startups

A significant component of the collaboration is NVIDIA Inception, the company’s programme designed to support startups globally.

Unlike a conventional investment programme, NVIDIA Inception is described as a free initiative that provides participating startups with access to a range of resources and connections designed to support their growth.

These include community opportunities, technical resources and opportunities to connect with investors.

The programme is particularly relevant to AI-focused startups because building sophisticated AI products can require access to specialised technical expertise, computing resources and industry networks.

Through the relationship established between RiseUp and NVIDIA, Egyptian founders can gain greater exposure to this wider ecosystem.

The collaboration does not, however, mean that NVIDIA has announced direct financial investment in the participating Egyptian startups. Instead, the emphasis in the current initiative is on ecosystem access, technical support, networking and opportunities for collaboration.

RiseUp stands as a bridge between Egypt and global tech

For RiseUp, the expanding relationship with NVIDIA reinforces its role as a platform connecting Egyptian innovators with major international technology companies.

The organisation’s founder and CEO, Abdelhameed Sharara, described the latest gathering as another step towards creating a lasting relationship between Egypt’s AI community and NVIDIA’s global ecosystem.

“This reception is the next step in building a real, lasting bridge between Egypt’s AI community and NVIDIA’s global ecosystem,” Sharara said.

The statement captures the central purpose of the partnership: creating channels through which local founders and technology professionals can engage with global technology networks.

RiseUp’s involvement also demonstrates how entrepreneurship platforms can facilitate connections between startups and multinational technology companies.

By organising ecosystem-focused events and creating opportunities for direct engagement, the organisation is seeking to strengthen the links between Egypt’s emerging innovators and the wider global technology landscape.

More AI initiatives expected across the region

The latest development also points towards additional activities involving RiseUp and NVIDIA in the months ahead.

RiseUp said further joint initiatives for the regional AI ecosystem are already in motion, although the organisation did not provide detailed information about their specific format, participants or expected outcomes.

The planned activities could build on the relationships established through the July NVIDIA SIGNALS session and the latest Cairo reception by creating additional opportunities for startups, developers, investors, researchers and industry leaders to interact.

For Egypt’s technology ecosystem, the significance of the collaboration lies in the continued access to a global AI network rather than a single event.

As artificial intelligence becomes an increasingly important area of technological development, partnerships that connect local innovators with international expertise and resources can create new channels for knowledge exchange and collaboration.

RiseUp and NVIDIA’s continued engagement therefore signals an effort to build a more connected AI ecosystem in Egypt and the wider region.
