Global travel technology firm, RateGain Travel Technologies Limited has partnered with payments infrastructure provider Juspay to power RG Pay, an embedded financial technology platform designed for the travel and hospitality sector.

The collaboration aims to help travel businesses improve checkout conversions, support a broader range of local payment methods, and deliver smoother booking experiences for travellers around the world.

The partnership follows the recent launch of RG Pay, which expands RateGain’s technology ecosystem beyond booking optimisation into the broader financial transaction lifecycle within the travel industry.

“We are excited to partner with RateGain to demonstrate how high-performance payment technology can co-create a new benchmark for the travel industry. RG Pay bridges the gap between institutional scale and the agility of modern technology, ensuring that hotels can offer the same seamless, secure checkout experience that the world’s largest digital enterprises rely on,” said Ishan Sharma, head of sales and business development at Juspay.

Addressing payment challenges in global travel

As travel and hospitality companies expand across multiple markets, managing payments has become a critical operational challenge. Businesses must support local payment preferences, manage cross-border transactions, and ensure secure, frictionless checkouts for customers.

Through RG Pay, RateGain seeks to address these issues by embedding payment orchestration capabilities directly into its travel commerce platform.

The system integrates Juspay’s payment infrastructure to create a unified transaction framework that includes payment processing, intelligent routing, orchestration, and affordability solutions.

The goal is to help travel brands manage payments more efficiently while improving customer experience at the final stage of booking.

A unified transaction lifecycle for travel platforms

Unlike traditional payment integrations that focus mainly on checkout functionality, RG Pay aims to cover the entire transaction lifecycle within the travel ecosystem.

By combining payment capabilities with RateGain’s existing distribution and connectivity infrastructure, the platform enables travel companies to manage discovery, booking, conversion, and payment processing within a single environment.

According to the companies, this integrated approach can help travel businesses reduce payment friction, improve conversion rates, and simplify global payment management.

The platform will rely on Juspay’s payment orchestration stack, which is designed to support large-scale global payment operations.

Juspay’s infrastructure processes more than 300 million transactions daily, handles over $1 trillion in annual payment value, and maintains a 99.999% uptime, according to the company.

By embedding this infrastructure within RateGain’s ecosystem, the partnership aims to deliver reliable and scalable payment experiences for travel and hospitality brands operating in multiple markets.

Expanding RateGain’s hospitality commerce ecosystem

For RateGain, the launch of RG Pay represents a broader evolution of its platform, which has traditionally focused on helping travel companies optimise bookings and distribution.

Parijat Tiwari, executive vice-president and general manager for distribution at RateGain, said the integration of Juspay’s technology will help the company extend its services across the entire transaction journey.

“By integrating Juspay’s globally scalable orchestration infrastructure and AI-powered routing intelligence into our ecosystem as a launch Partner, we are strengthening the foundation of payments in travel, aligning discovery, distribution, conversion, and transaction performance within a unified architecture for travel brands worldwide,” Tiwari said.

Strengthening the future of travel payments

As global travel continues to recover and expand following years of pandemic-related disruptions, seamless payment experiences have become a crucial part of the digital booking journey.

Through the partnership, RateGain and Juspay aim to create a more resilient and scalable payment infrastructure that enables travel and hospitality companies to operate more effectively across international markets.

By combining travel commerce technology with advanced payment orchestration, the companies hope to set a new standard for payment performance, flexibility, and reliability in the travel industry.

Talking Points

It is significant to see RateGain Travel Technologies Limited partner with Juspay to power RG Pay, especially at a time when seamless digital payments are becoming central to the global travel experience.

By integrating advanced payment orchestration directly into the travel booking ecosystem, the platform addresses one of the most critical friction points in online travel, checkout conversion. Payment failures and limited local options often cause travellers to abandon bookings, so improving this stage can significantly impact revenue for travel and hospitality brands.

At Techparley, we see this partnership as part of a broader shift where travel technology platforms are evolving beyond booking engines into full transaction ecosystems. By combining payment processing, intelligent routing, and affordability solutions, RG Pay could simplify how travel businesses manage complex global payment operations.

The use of Juspay’s high-performance infrastructure, capable of processing hundreds of millions of daily transactions, also positions the platform to support large-scale travel marketplaces and hospitality brands operating across multiple regions.

If implemented well, this collaboration could set a new benchmark for payment performance in the travel sector, enabling travel companies to deliver smoother booking experiences while improving conversion rates and operational efficiency worldwide.
