Artificial intelligence will take center stage at the Quramo Festival of Words 2025 (QFest) with a panel discussion titled “AI Awakening: Weaving African Narratives in the Web of Creativity, Truth & Tomorrow.”

The session, which explores how AI is shaping storytelling, truth, and Africa’s future in creativity and innovation, will be moderated by Ridwan Adelaja, a poet, journalist, and communications specialist known for bridging technology and culture.

The festival organizers, Quramo, announced the panel on LinkedIn, highlighting the lineup of speakers. The discussion is scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 10:10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m, at Eko Hotels & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

PayU Kenya Shuts Down After Six Years of Operations – What This Means for African Startups

PayU Kenya, a subsidiary of payments and fintech company PayU, has begun liquidation proceedings, marking its exit from the Kenyan market after six years of operations.

A public notice confirms the shutdown, and also the appointment of Sonal Tejpal as the company’s liquidator, effective August 19, 2025.

The decision to shut down was filed under Kenya’s Insolvency Act and published in a local newspaper. Tejpal will now oversee the winding up of PayU Kenya’s affairs, including settling outstanding liabilities and managing claims from creditors.
