President Bola Tinubu’s administration plans to hold all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) accountable for their performance.
According to Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Communication, President Tinubu will give MDAs the resources and autonomy they need to operate effectively, without micromanaging them.
Bwala emphasized that President Tinubu aims to be a people-centric leader, allowing systems to work seamlessly and efficiently. He also dismissed concerns that the government has not been firm enough in fighting corruption, highlighting that President Tinubu will not influence institutions’ decision-making processes.
On the 2025 budget, Mr Bwala urged Nigerians to reduce their reliance on the US dollar and strengthen the naira instead. He also identified insecurity as a major threat to food production and applauded the government’s allocation of N3.89 trillion to fighting insecurity under the Ministry of Defence.
Some of the key policies and allocations mentioned include:
– *N3.89 trillion for insecurity*: Aimed at enhancing food production and getting farmers back to their farms.
– *N2.52 trillion for education*: Part of the government’s efforts to reduce financial burdens on Nigerians.
– *People-oriented policies*: Designed to cushion the effects of economic hardship and demonstrate President Tinubu’s commitment to the people’s welfare.
Overall, President Tinubu’s administration seems focused on promoting accountability, efficiency, and people-centric policies.
