Top Story: BlueFive Capital Acquires 49% Stake in LeasePlan Emirates, Expands into UAE Mobility Market
The transaction marks a significant strategic move for the alternative investment platform as it seeks exposure to sectors driving economic transformation and infrastructure development across the Gulf region.
The deal, which sees BlueFive Capital acquire the minority stake from global mobility company Ayvens, leaves Mubadala-backed Solutions+ with a majority 51 percent ownership in LeasePlan Emirates, ensuring it retains operational control of the business.
Beyond a simple ownership change, the investment signals growing confidence in the UAE’s mobility ecosystem, where increasing demand for fleet management services, digital transportation solutions, and sustainable mobility offerings continues to attract investors seeking long-term growth opportunities.
Commenting on the transaction, Hazem Ben-Gacem, Chief Executive Officer of BlueFive Capital, emphasized the company’s ambitions for the business.
“LeasePlan Emirates is a trusted and established partner in fleet management, and we plan to expedite its growth, improve the company’s usage of technology, and initiate the provision of environment-friendly transport solutions.”

South Africa’s SupaChat is Bringing AI to African Businesses Via WhatsApp, Social Media, Local Languages
Founded in 2024 by strategy and innovation specialist, Lindile Ndube, SupaChat is helping businesses deploy AI agents trained on their products, pricing structures, customer service policies, and brand identities. This allows them to engage customers across WhatsApp, websites, Facebook, and Instagram in multiple languages around the clock.
The company’s vision extends beyond simply offering chatbots. Instead, it aims to transform how businesses interact with customers, analyse data, and manage digital engagement.
As AI adoption accelerates globally, SupaChat believes Africa requires solutions tailored to local realities rather than generic technologies imported from abroad.
Explaining the company’s role in the ecosystem, founder and chief executive officer, Lindile Ndube noted that, “Big Tech builds the models and global SaaS builds the tools, but someone has to make AI actually work for a business operating on the ground. That is what we do.”
