Hi, welcome to Tech This Evening, an After-Work Tech Newsletter from Techparley Africa. Sure, there is a lot to unpack right now. Sit back, while I walk you through.

Top Story: DRIVE1OO Fellow, Dawn AI Study Secures N5M Grant from Evon Lab to Advance NeuroEdTech Push in Africa.

Dawn AI Study, a Nigerian artificial intelligence startup focused on neurodivergent learning and cognitive analytics, has secured a N5 million non-dilutive grant from Evon Lab’s HealthX Incubator Programme. This marks a significant milestone in its evolution from an EdTech-focused solution into a deeper NeuroTech and health-education intelligence platform.

Founder and CEO, Victor Ogunbiyi, disclosed, in a recent interview with Techparley Africa, that the funding followed a rigorous selection process under the HealthX framework, where the startup stood out for its “intersectional approach to healthcare and education” and its “absolute technical defensibility.”

According to him, the startup is building what he described as “a foundational NeuroTech framework tailored for the African continent,” powered by advanced infrastructure including NVIDIA DGX systems.

DAWN AI STUDY has earlier been featured under Techparley Africa’s DRIVE100 Accelerator Programme spotlight, where it was highlighted for using artificial intelligence to support neurodivergent learners across African classrooms.

Zimbabwe’s Maminda Agri-Fintech Builds AI-Powered “All-in-One” Platform to Transform Farming in Africa

Zimbabwean agritech startup Maminda Agri-Fintech is positioning itself at the centre of Africa’s agricultural transformation with a bold ambition, to integrate finance, advisory services, and market access into a single digital ecosystem tailored for smallholder farmers.

Founded just last year, the startup says it is leveraging artificial intelligence, satellite crop monitoring, cooperative financing, and digital marketplace tools to address long-standing barriers that have kept millions of farmers financially excluded.

As founder and CEO Maminda Edward Gandanzara explained, “Maminda operates across the entire agricultural value chain, supporting farmers from season planning and input financing through production, monitoring and post-harvest marketing.”

Despite its ambition, the company remains at an early pilot stage, working with fewer than 100 active users as it refines its model and prepares for pre-seed fundraising to scale operations across Zimbabwe and eventually the wider African region.
