Telecommunications group, Orange has signed a partnership with ZEBOX, the global innovation accelerator founded by the CMA CGM Group, in a move aimed at accelerating the deployment of emerging technologies across large organisations.
The agreement will see Orange join ZEBOX as a corporate partner, strengthening collaboration between the telecoms giant and a growing ecosystem of startups focused on solving industrial and operational challenges.
The partnership is designed to bridge the gap between early-stage innovation and large-scale deployment, an area where many startups struggle to transition from pilot to production.
“This partnership aims to bring to life technology solutions ready to be deployed in real operational environments. It is also an opportunity for the Group to collaborate more closely with innovative startups and explore new use cases around AI, data and digital infrastructures,” Jérôme Berger, Strategy and Venture Capital Director, Orange
Combining scale with startup agility
The collaboration brings together Orange’s global infrastructure and expertise in telecommunications and digital services with the innovation capabilities of startups supported by ZEBOX.
For Orange, the partnership aligns with its broader open innovation strategy, which prioritises collaboration with startups, developers, industrial players and academic institutions to drive the development of new technologies.
By integrating ZEBOX startups into its ecosystem, Orange aims to accelerate the transformation of emerging technologies into deployable solutions across its business-to-business (B2B) offerings and internal operations.
ZEBOX, in turn, will leverage Orange’s international footprint, networks and platforms to help startups scale solutions beyond pilot stages and into real-world industrial environments.
From experimentation to deployment
A key focus of the partnership is to move beyond experimentation towards industrialisation.
Both organisations will work jointly to identify, test and deploy high-potential technologies across several priority areas, including digital infrastructure, artificial intelligence and data, cybersecurity, and customer and employee experience.
Startups will gain access to Orange’s telecoms infrastructure and platform capabilities, enabling them to develop solutions that are ready for rapid deployment at scale.
The collaboration also opens up new opportunities for testing use cases in live environments, supported by Orange’s operational capacity across multiple markets.
Exploring AI at scale
Artificial intelligence is expected to play a central role in the partnership, particularly in developing solutions that can operate in complex, large-scale environments.
The companies said they would explore new use cases in AI and data, with an emphasis on responsible deployment, focusing on trust, transparency and long-term sustainability.
The most promising projects will be co-developed and scaled using Orange’s infrastructure, with the aim of delivering measurable value across sectors in which both companies operate.
What you need to know
For ZEBOX, the partnership reinforces its mission of connecting startups with large corporations to accelerate innovation and address real-world challenges.
“Innovation is a key lever to strengthen companies’ competitiveness, and in this respect, this partnership with Orange is fully aligned with ZEBOX’s mission: to connect startups with large corporations and their ecosystems in order to accelerate innovation and the deployment of technological solutions addressing concrete industrial and environmental challenges,” said Frédéric Guilleux, CEO, ZEBOX.
Orange’s participation also enhances ZEBOX’s ability to scale solutions globally, particularly through access to telecoms infrastructure and enterprise customers.
For Orange, joining ZEBOX provides direct access to an international network of startups and industrial partners, strengthening its capacity to integrate cutting-edge solutions into its operations.
A growing corporate alliance
With Orange joining as its 18th corporate partner, ZEBOX continues to expand its network of industrial collaborators, which already includes companies such as PSA Ventures, Vinci, Transdev and Jifmar.
As competition intensifies across industries, partnerships of this kind are increasingly seen as essential to accelerating innovation cycles and ensuring that emerging technologies can move from concept to commercial deployment.
For both Orange and ZEBOX, the focus now shifts to execution, turning collaborative experimentation into scalable solutions capable of delivering tangible impact across global markets.
Talking Points
It is notable that Orange’s partnership with ZEBOX reflects a growing shift among large corporates towards structured collaboration with startup ecosystems to accelerate innovation and reduce the time from idea to deployment.
By combining Orange’s industrial scale and telecoms infrastructure with ZEBOX’s startup network, the partnership creates a practical pathway for turning early-stage technologies into deployable solutions across real operational environments.
At Techparley, we see this as a strong example of how corporates are moving beyond traditional procurement models towards co-creation, particularly in areas like AI, data and digital infrastructure where speed and adaptability are critical.
The focus on industrialising innovation is particularly important. Many startups struggle not with invention, but with scaling, especially when solutions need to operate across multiple markets and complex systems.
The emphasis on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and digital trust also reflects where enterprise demand is heading, as organisations increasingly seek secure, scalable and responsible digital transformation.
As this collaboration develops, it could serve as a blueprint for how large corporations and innovation accelerators jointly build scalable technologies that move beyond pilots into global adoption.
