Flutterwave has announced the launch of its financial operations across 34 states in the United States, offering simpler, faster, and more convenient services for customers.
In a post shared Friday via his X account, Flutterwave Founder and CEO, Olugbenga Agboola, revealed that the company has secured 20 additional Money Transmitter Licenses (MTLs), with more expected soon.
This development marks a significant milestone as Flutterwave’s Send App enters full-fledged operation in the U.S.
Through the Send App, users, particularly Africans living in the United States and the diaspora, can now send money with ease to home countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Egypt, and more.
Whether you’re supporting family, covering school fees, or helping a friend, Send App makes it simple to send money home to Africa in just a few taps right from your phone.

Where You Can Send Money From in the U.S.
At present, Send App is available in 34 U.S. states, with active plans to expand to others. These include: Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
Security and Compliance
To ensure secure transactions and in compliance with U.S. regulations, users will be required to complete a simple one-step identity verification using a government-issued ID at sign-up. Currently, only U.S.-issued Visa and Discover cards are accepted.
What You Need to Sign Up
New users signing up to the Send App in the U.S. will need to provide the following: full legal name, valid email address, country of residence, phone number, residential address, ZIP code, and a government-issued ID (driver’s license, State ID, or passport).
