Top Story: Shuttlers Hits 10M Trips, Integrates with Google Maps to Simplify Urban Commuting in Nigeria
Nigerian mobility technology startup, Shuttlers, has achieved a major milestone in its decade-long journey to transform urban transportation, announcing its official integration into the Google Maps Transit system in Nigeria while also celebrating the completion of its 10 millionth passenger journey.
The dual achievement marks a significant moment for the company, which has steadily built a technology-enabled shared mobility network serving professionals and businesses across some of Nigeria’s busiest cities.
Through the integration, commuters using Google Maps can now discover Shuttlers’ transit routes while searching for directions and book seats on available routes, making the platform more accessible to thousands of urban travellers.
Commenting on the development, Shuttlers Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder, Damilola Olokesusi, described the integration as the culmination of years of effort aimed at improving the commuting experience for millions of people.
“We are incredibly proud of our integration into the Google Maps Transit system. This, alongside hitting 10 million journeys since launch, is a reflection of years of hard work,” Olokesusi said.

Inclusive Solutions is Betting on Home-Language Learning Tool to Tackle South Africa’s Literacy Crisis
South African assistive technology and education resource provider, Inclusive Solutions, is developing a home-language learning tool aimed at improving literacy outcomes among young learners, particularly those in the early years and foundation phase of education.
The company, which operates at the intersection of special needs education, healthcare, and assistive technology, believes that enabling children to learn key concepts in their home languages could significantly improve educational outcomes.
While the product is still under development, its foundations are built on an existing solution that has already been used in South African special-needs schools for more than a decade.
According to Lisa Ellis, who currently runs the company alongside Ed Ellis, the new product seeks to improve the relevance and effectiveness of learning resources by tailoring them to local linguistic and educational realities.
“The product is in development stage, though its predecessor has been used in South Africa for over 15 years in a wide variety of special needs schools. With the new translation and localisation, we hope to see better relevance and more value delivered to our local schools,” Ellis said.
