Hi, welcome to Tech This Evening, an After-Work Tech Newsletter from Techparley Africa. Sure, there is a lot to unpack right now. Sit back, while I walk you through.

Top Story: Flutterwave Hits $3.2B Valuation as Ripple Backs Stablecoin-Powered Expansion Across Africa

Nigeria’s fintech giant, Flutterwave, has secured a new round of funding that values the company at an impressive $3.2 billion, reinforcing its status as one of Africa’s most valuable technology companies and signaling growing global confidence in the continent’s digital payments future.

The investment round, known as a Series E raise, attracted participation from Ripple, the global blockchain-based finance company behind some of the world’s leading digital payment solutions.

The partnership marks a significant milestone not only for Flutterwave’s growth ambitions but also for the evolution of digital payments infrastructure across Africa, as both companies seek to leverage stablecoin technology to make cross-border transactions faster, cheaper, and more efficient.

Reece Merrick, Managing Director for the Middle East and Africa at Ripple, described Flutterwave as a company that has built one of the continent’s most advanced payment infrastructures.

“Flutterwave has built one of the most advanced payments networks in Africa. And as its infrastructure evolves, stablecoins are becoming central to that story,” Merrick said.

“Our investment will establish RLUSD within that infrastructure, with Flutterwave driving stablecoin flows over the XRPL and deepening its role as a settlement layer for real-world payments across the continent,” he added.

Egyptian Ed-Tech Giant eYouth Partners Syrian Startup Doroob to Equip Youth With Job-Ready Skills

Egyptian education technology company, eYouth, has entered into a strategic partnership with Syrian startup Doroob to expand access to market-driven training programmes across Syria.

The collaboration combines eYouth’s extensive regional digital learning ecosystem with Doroob’s growing network of local training hubs, creating a hybrid learning model designed to equip Syrian youth with the practical skills needed to thrive in an increasingly competitive labour market.

By integrating world-class digital content with hands-on training opportunities, the partnership seeks to bridge the gap between education and employment while empowering a new generation of young Syrians with pathways to economic participation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable careers.

Speaking on the collaboration, eYouth Chief Executive Officer Mostafa Abdellatif highlighted the importance of aligning training programmes with labour market realities.

“Syrian youth possess immense potential and deserve training that leads them directly to real employment opportunities,” Abdellatif said.

“By linking our regional platform with Doroob’s local training centres and deep understanding of the Syrian market, we will deliver programs that actively help young people build the exact skills that companies are demanding today,” he added.
